There has been a huge interest in the upcoming Summer School for juniors in Norway taking place June 28th – July 5th.

NHF, Norwegian Federation, has opened their famous “Summer School for young Mushers” to now also include non-Norwegian juniors
This year the popular and successful “Summer Musher School” for juniors (13 – 20 years of age) will be organized at Skeikampen Hotel (close to Lillehammer) in Norway during the time, Sunday June 28 till Sunday July 5th.
Everyone who has a dream to become a musher “when they grow up” is welcome to attend.
IFSS will support the first 10 participants from outside of Norway (non-Norwegians) with the cost for trainers/leaders/instructors. Entries will be evaluated and supported by the principle; “first come, first served”.
If you are between 13 and 20 years of age and think mushing, of all the variations, will be fun, you are welcome. There will be some theoretical classes, biking, kick biking, football (soccer), running, hiking and a lot of fun and you will get to know a lot of new people. You do not have to be “athletic”, fit or well trained, but you should think activities and sport together with dogs are fun. You should be able to communicate some in the English language.
Cost for participating is NOK 3.200 (covers food and lodging). You have to organize and pay for your own travel and IFSS will cover the cost for trainers, instructors and leaders. Leaders on the school/camp will be Lena Boysen Hillestad and Kristoffer Grøtan Olsen.
If it is difficult to bring your own dog, IFSS will help you to borrow a dog; we will also help you to borrow a bike and other equipment if needed. If you have “Roller-Skis”, bring these to the camp.
The “Summer Musher School” has been organized for many years and here is a link to a video from last year made by Šimon Cipro.
